Chubby rat holding a gold coin among plum blossoms - Chinese new year coloring pages free printable

About this coloring page

The rat comes first in the Chinese zodiac, and this chubby rat holding a gold coin among plum blossoms is the first animal in our Chinese New Year coloring pages, free printable like every sheet in the set. Legend says the clever rat won the great race by riding on the ox and jumping off at the finish line. Kids who want to color the whole cycle can jump straight to the little pig among mandarin oranges, the twelfth and last animal. The round coin stands for wealth, so use gold or yellow there, with grey or brown fur, and the girl in a qipao holding lanterns makes a nice festive pair for it.
