About this coloring page
Standing tall on its hind legs with its front paws tucked against its chest, this groundhog looks just like the real ones that pop up along fields in early spring. That makes it a handy coloring picture of groundhog for a science lesson as well as a holiday table. Real woodchucks are grizzled brown with a pale chin, so mix brown, tan and a little grey for the coat. Younger children who find the fur lines tricky can start with the big cartoon groundhog for preschoolers instead. Print it whenever the burrow talk begins.
